Mega Man X is making a small comeback in the Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2. The first collection features Mega Man X1, X2, X3, and X4, while the second features X5, X6, X7, and X8. All eight games will be upscaled for HD, as well as the addition of a smoothing filter should you choose to turn it on. The first collection will feature the animated short film "The Day Of Sigma", which was previously included in the PSP exclusive Mega Man X remake "Mega Man Maverick Hunter X". Like the Mega Man Legacy Collections, they will feature artwork and soundtrack features, including the additions of trailers and remixed soundtracks. Also teased in the above trailer is an X Challenge mode where you are able to fight two bosses at once with your choice of three weapons, complete with leaderboard support. More details are expected to revealed in the coming months
Both collections are set to be released for $20 a piece on July 24th, 2018. You can buy both in a bundle for $40 physically. On PS4 and Xbox One, each collection has their own separate disc, while on the Switch, the cartridge contains the first collection while the second is a downloadable voucher.
